Spring Weather in the Rockies

One day it’s 60 degrees and sunny, summer is on your mind and you think June is just around the corner, and the next…

The big white flakes are back and they’re blowing sideways…upstream. You remember that winter isn’t done yet. Time to dig the jackets and wool socks out again.

Oh well, sometimes ya just gotta get out and fish, even if you get stuck in a blizzard or two. There are worse things to do after class on a friday.

Hey first I really like what you are doing. It’s really cool. So I just moved here a week ago from Helena and I wanted to know could a guy float the bitterroot right now? Also where to put in? I wanna put in up river from Lolo and get out in Lolo at my buddies place.

  2. Yes you can. To take out somewhere in Lolo you’d wanna put in at florence bridge, which is upstream in the town of Florence. The whole river from Darby down to Missoula fishes well this time of year. You can get a map of the floats at any outdoor store or fly shop. Good luck out there and thanks for reading.

I think it’s really cool you guys are outdoors all the time fishing, when I was in school I was partying all the time. Big mistake! Thanks for the info.
