Rivers Are Void of People

Usually in the months of July and August, people from all over the country flock to Montana to take advantage of some of the best dry fly fishing in the country. There are still people from all over in town right now, but not the number of people like usual. I have been doing most of my floats on the Bitterroot River. This river has been fishing pretty damn well with dry flies. I have been amazed to be on the water, and seeing only a small handful of fisherman, even when the fishing has been very good. On the other hand, my friends Cody and Alec work in a fly shop in Craig, Montana, on the Missouri River. The fishing has also been very good there and they are apparently having a great year in terms of number of people. Maybe the reason is that the fishing and water conditions has been good all over the state, therefore people are spreading out…

It’s tough to beat summer in Montana
