Yesterday I ended the 18+ hour drive from back home to Missoula and got settled back into the house. After over a month of not being on a river with open water I was definitely ready to get out. My friend Cody and I headed up the Bitterroot in hopes of some nice fish, and the weather was a blessing as the mercury easily hit 40. We hooked into some nice fish throughout the day, as nymphing the slower runs and riffles provided to be the successful tactic.

It was a nice winter day to be out on the water. Spring fishing and the hatches that come with it are not far away, unfortunately gotta start school on monday though.
